The Schlarman Hilltoppers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a rough 59-19 loss at the hands of Armstrong. Schlarman was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-5.
Despite the defeat, Schlarman saw an underclassman step up: Addison Forsyth scored 15 points. Forsyth scored a full 78.9% of Schlarman's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Schlarman bumped their record down to 0-3 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Armstrong, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Schlarman will be home for the holidays to greet Iroquois West at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Armstrong will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oakwood at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th.
