The Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors were the 74-65 winner over the DSST: Green Valley Ranch Raptors when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Eagle Ridge Academy suffered a tough 54-31 defeat at the hands of DSST: Green Valley Ranch on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Eagle Ridge Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while DSST: Green Valley Ranch is ranked 32nd).
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tiden Silver-Colbert, who scored 11 points.
Eagle Ridge Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as DSST: Green Valley Ranch pulled down 14.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jovonnie Babineaux, who scored 11 points along with 8 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Babineaux's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Shalom Abioye was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Eagle Ridge Academy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eagle Ridge Academy will take on Dawson School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Englewood at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
