They walked away with a 66-55 win over Salem Baptist Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Salem Baptist Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Garrett Trinkle. Despite the final result, he shot 7-for-13 from long range and dropped a double-double on 39 points and 14 rebounds. That was a full 70.9% of Salem Baptist Christian's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Gregg, who scored seven points.
Hickory Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Salem Baptist Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-17.
Hickory Christian Academy and Statesville Christian will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Statesville Christian is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Salem Baptist Christian will take on Guilford Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
