El Dorado has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Esperanza Aztecs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 41 points the game before, El Dorado were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 38-10 defeat at the hands of El Modena. El Dorado was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Esperanza can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 34-27 victory over Canyon. The win was just what Esperanza needed coming off of a 41-20 loss in their prior matchup.
Esperanza got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaron Forsgren out in front who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. Forsgren hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for seven straight games. Jack Lee also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: El Modena's win pushed their record up to 5-4, while El Dorado's loss dropped theirs down to 4-5.
Everything came up roses for El Dorado against Esperanza in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 52-14 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Esperanza's Jesse Deunsing, who rushed for 183 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for El Dorado to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
