Westlake has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lone Peak recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Thunder will welcome the Knights at 3:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westlake has three straight victories, Lone Peak has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Westlake made easy work of American Fork and carried off an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lynlee Sperry was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryan Pead, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Lexi Hilton was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Westlake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak lost 17-1 to Lehi on Tuesday.
Lone Peak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Gourley, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Westlake pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lone Peak, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
Lone Peak's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Westlake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. It's a different story for Lone Peak, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Westlake's hitters?
Westlake took their victory against Lone Peak when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-4 score. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
