The Towson Generals pushed their score all the way to 67 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Parkville 71-67. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Towson in their matchups with Parkville: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Towson had strong showings from Quint Fryer, who scored 21 points along with nine rebounds, and Braden Renner, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Renner has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Korey Collins, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Parkville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chima Egeonu, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 18 rebounds, and nine blocks. Egeonu is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Council, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Towson's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Parkville, their victory was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3.
Towson will take on Perry Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Parkville, they will head out on the road to challenge Randallstown at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
