Nacogdoches is 1-6 against Marshall since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Mavericks at 7:30 p.m. Nacogdoches will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Nacogdoches gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They walked away with a 34-24 win over Whitehouse. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nacogdoches got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Trae Page out in front who rushed for 153 yards and one score. Those 153 rushing yards gave Page a new career-high. Rj Whitaker also helped out with an impressive 127 receiving yards.
Nacogdoches' defense stepped up as well, laying out Austin Holmes six times. Whitehouse's QB won't forget Caden Thomas anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Thomas also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 11. Another thorn in Whitehouse's side was Idarius Whitaker, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Marshall never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Jacksonville, posting a 56-0 win. The contest marked the Mavericks' most dominant victory of the season.
Marshall's win came from a few key players Nacogdoches will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Doug Johnson, who rushed for 119 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries. Denijh Montgomery also helped out as he racked up 117 rushing yards.
Marshall was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 361 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Nacogdoches' record now sits at 6-1. As for Marshall, their record is now 5-2.
Friday's matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Jaylan Garrett and Alton Henderson. Garrett just won't slow down this season and has thrown 19 touchdowns while averaging 312.9 passing yards per game. Henderson has been a dominant force too and has thrown 3 touchdowns while averaging 72 passing yards per game.
Nacogdoches was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Marshall in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
