The San Tan Charter Roadrunners will take on the Williams Vikings at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Williams will be up against a hot San Tan Charter team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. The Roadrunners put the hurt on North Valley Christian Academy with a sharp 18-6 win on Tuesday.
Braden Peasel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, San Tan Charter got a massive performance out of Bairyk Schulte, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Schulte hit this season. Dillon Wildrick was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
San Tan Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Williams came tearing into Tuesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Scorpions.
Like San Tan Charter, Williams also got a great game from a two-way player: Tytus Hollenbeck. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Hollenbeck was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Williams let Aiden Uebel and Mario Pedraza run wild. Uebel scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2, while Pedraza scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. With that strong performance, Uebel is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Daniel Rigo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Williams' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for San Tan Charter, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1.
Both San Tan Charter and Williams just can't seem to miss. The Roadrunners have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Williams struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
