The Immokalee Indians lost against the Palmetto Ridge Bears back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Immokalee took a serious blow against Palmetto Ridge, falling 61-22. Immokalee has not had much luck with Palmetto Ridge recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leading Palmetto Ridge to victory were Jordyn Villani and Melody Charlton. Villani scored 19 points along with 3 steals, while Charlton scored 23 points along with 4 steals. The game was Charlton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amberly Rios, who scored 9 points along with 9 steals.
The last time Immokalee won on the road was back last Thursday. Having now lost three straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 1-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.0 points per game. As for Palmetto Ridge, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immokalee will take on Clewiston at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Clewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Everglades City at 7:30 p.m.
