Long Beach lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Harrison, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's match. The Bearcats put the hurt on the Hurricanes with a sharp 13-3 win on Saturday. The game marked the Bearcats' most dominant victory of the season.

Walker Cooke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Cooke was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wayne Ulrich, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Aiden Downey was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Long Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Long Beach pushed their record up to 14-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for West Harrison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Long Beach will face off against Picayune at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Harrison, they will square off against Pascagoula at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
