Wesley Chapel is 8-2 against Cypress Creek since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Wildcats will host the Coyotes at 6:00 p.m. Wesley Chapel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Wesley Chapel took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over Strawberry Crest.
Lucy Cavall looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kendall McCants, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Juliana Martin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
Wesley Chapel lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Cypress Creek came up short against Wiregrass Ranch on Wednesday and fell 7-3. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cypress Creek saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emily Bowling, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
The win got Wesley Chapel back to even at 10-10. As for Cypress Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Wesley Chapel has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Cypress Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Wesley Chapel came out on top in a nail-biter against Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 3-2. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Coyotes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
