Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Patriot Prep Academy suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a rough 48-23 loss at the hands of Mt. Gilead. While losing is never fun, Patriot Prep Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 731st, while Mt. Gilead is ranked 350th).
Meanwhile, Grove City Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against Fairfield Christian Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 49-41 to the Knights.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Rylee Thompson, who scored 16 points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Smith, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Patriot Prep Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Grove City Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
