In what's become a running theme this season, the Godby Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past St. John Paul II 53-8 at home. The win was just what Godby needed coming off of a 61-31 defeat in their prior contest.
Godby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caiden Larris, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenijah Clayton, who scored seven points along with eight steals.
Godby's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40 points. As for St. John Paul II, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Godby will head out on the road to challenge Chiles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Chiles focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Thursday. As for St. John Paul II, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Maclay at 6:00 p.m.
