Pine River Area put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Gaylord Blue Devils by a score of 51-42.

Pine River Area's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eli Smith led the charge by going 6 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Gugle, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Pine River Area pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Gaylord, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine River Area will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Onekama at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. Gaylord also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against St.Ignace at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
