Last Thursday, everything went Fossil Ridge's way against Keller Central as Fossil Ridge made off with a 35-10 victory. With Fossil Ridge ahead 28-3 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Fossil Ridge can attribute much of their success to Logan Cundiff, who threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Logan Taylor made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Southlake Carroll unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to Byron Nelson on the road by a decisive 34-17 margin.
Southlake Carroll's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Graham Knowles, who rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown, and Jack Van Dorselaer who picked up 62 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Fossil Ridge's victory bumped their season record to 3-6 while Southlake Carroll's loss dropped theirs to 8-1.
Fossil Ridge was dealt a bruising 45-14 defeat at the hands of Southlake Carroll in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Fossil Ridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
