Even though the Cromwell Cardinals scored an imposing 67 points on Tuesday, Carlton/Wrenshall still came out on top. Carlton/Wrenshall took their match against Cromwell 80-67. Winning may never get old, but Carlton/Wrenshall sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Cromwell's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brady Dahl, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds, and Dylan Nyberg who scored 22 points. Nyberg has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Tucker Korpi was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Carlton/Wrenshall pushed their record up to 9-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 95.0 points per game. As for Cromwell, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.
Carlton/Wrenshall on the road again on Friday and play against Moose Lake/Willow River at 7:15 p.m. on January 19th. As for Cromwell, they will be playing at home against Floodwood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for Floodwood and four for Cromwell.
