The Elmwood Trojans suffered their biggest defeat since December 26, 2023 on Monday. They were the victim of a tough 58-38 loss at the hands of Peoria Christian. Elmwood has not had much luck with Peoria Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Peoria Christian to victory were Jameson Fisher and Malachi Persinger. Fisher scored eight points along with eight assists, while Persinger scored 11 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Fisher posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Walton, who scored 13 points.
Elmwood's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Peoria Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 15-10.
Elmwood won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Astoria/VIT at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Astoria/VIT focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five last Saturday. As for Peoria Christian, they will play host again and welcome Lewistown, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
