The Osborne Cardinals lost against the North Cobb Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Osborne's tough 64-42 loss to North Cobb might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Osborne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while North Cobb is ranked 87th).
When it comes to explaining why Osborne lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nia Morgan. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points. That was a full 76.2% of Osborne's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Azjorya Robinson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Osborne has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for North Cobb, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Osborne will take on Cherokee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cherokee will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Osborne surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Cobb, they will be playing at home against Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Walton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
