Albuquerque Academy had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Wednesday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-44 W against the Bernalillo Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-29 back in January.

Albuquerque Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Spratley, who went 6-for-9 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Spratley has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Lily Skarsgard was another key player, going 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points and five steals.

Albuquerque Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Bernalillo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trinity Calabaza dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Calabaza a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailani Trancosa, who posted two points and seven steals.

Albuquerque Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for Bernalillo, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.

Albuquerque Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bernalillo, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-41 victory against Valley on the 21st.
