The St. John's Mavericks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six  games by 22  points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat St. John XXIII 82-42 at home. The  win was nothing new for St. John's as they're now sitting on four straight.
  Sam Humphries was the offensive standout of the  match as he  went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. That's the first time this season that  he  scored 15 or more  points. Another player making a difference was  Sebastian Williams-Adams, who  scored eight points along with five  assists and four  steals.
 St. John's win was  their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 13-4. They've been dominating during the  games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.5 points. As for St. John XXIII, they have  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost four of their last five matches,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
 St. John's will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Thomas Catholic at 2:00  p.m.  on December 28th. St. Thomas Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. St. John XXIII will be home for the holidays to greet  HCYA at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
