Vanderhorst scored a full 43.2% of Wayne Country Day's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyrah Davis, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Hoggard was led to victory by Tristan Shivers and Sarah Elgart. Shivers dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists, while Elgart dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Shivers' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Avery Fitzgerald, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Wayne Country Day and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Hoggard, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wayne Country Day will square off against Trinity Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. Hoggard won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on December 6th. Jacksonville will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
