On Thursday, things could have been worse for Heartland, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-46 loss to Exeter-Milligan/Friend.
Heartland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luis Alvarez, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Thane Wetjen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Heartland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heartland will take on Fairbury at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Exeter-Milligan/Friend, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pawnee City at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Pawnee City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 last Tuesday.
