There's no place like home for Benton, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Carbondale Terriers on Monday, sneaking past 4-2. For the Rangers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Terriers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2021.

Peyton Robinson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clay Gage was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

Benton's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Carbondale, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Benton and Carbondale will both be playing Marion the next time they take the field. The Terriers will head out to face the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rangers will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
