Softball Recap: Marist Extends Winning Streak to 21

Marist extended their winning streak to 21 on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 29-1 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Munster Mustangs a 10-0 shutout. Considering the RedHawks have won 23 matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Munster, they moved to 23-4 with that loss, which also ended their 15-game winning streak. The shutout was out of character for they seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

For Munster's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Milania Munoz, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Looking ahead, Marist will take on Lake Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The RedHawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Munster, they will square off against Chesterton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
