After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Newberry, the Santa Fe Raiders were happy to have found some success on Friday. They snuck past Mount Dora with a 43-37 win. This was payback for Santa Fe, who suffered a 41-22 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Natalie Chohan was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 21 points along with five rebounds. The match was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haleigh Richburgh, who scored 12 points.
Santa Fe pushed their record up to 4-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Mount Dora, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hamilton County at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. After both having extra time off, Mount Dora and Belleview will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
