It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Highlands Bluebirds had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past South Oldham, posting a 43-0 victory at home. The victory was familiar territory for Highlands who now have nine in a row.
Brody Benke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 136 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes, while also catching a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Cam Giesler, who rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Highlands has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 10-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.6 points per game. As for South Oldham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Highlands will be playing at home against Dixie Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dixie Heights is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. South Oldham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
