Regis and LaSalle Academy are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Regis Raiders will get right back to it and host the LaSalle Academy Cardinals at 4:15 p.m. on January 16th. Regis will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Regis posted their biggest win since December 4, 2023 on Monday. They put the hurt on Moore Catholic with a sharp 69-47 victory. Given Regis' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Moore Catholic is ranked 391st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-28, which was the final score in LaSalle Academy's tilt against Fordham Prep last Friday. LaSalle Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Regis' win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for LaSalle Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Regis came up short against LaSalle Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, falling 66-57. Can Regis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
