The Darlington Tigers and the Whitefield Academy WolfPack squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Darlington Tigers had to settle for second. Darlington lost to Whitefield Academy on the road by a decisive 28-14 margin. Darlington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Callum Neese looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 36 yards and three touchdowns. Whitefield Academy also got a significant boost from Mason Hollingsworth, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.
Darlington has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Whitefield Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Darlington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Whitefield Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rabun County at 7:30 p.m.
