Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Frontenac Raiders, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 35-22 to Holton on Friday. Frontenac's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Holton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Abbott Hundley, who rushed for 243 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Hundley has been hot recently, having posted 100 or more rushing yards the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Hallauer, who rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
Frontenac's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Holton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Frontenac does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Holton will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Hayden at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Hayden has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 211 points over their last four matchups.
