After two games on the road, Richlands is heading back home. They will take on the Croatan Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, everything went Richlands' way against Dixon as Richlands made off with a 45-25 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richlands to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jordyn Fisher, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Mia Wells, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Croatan entered their tilt with White Oak with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Croatan came out on top in a nail-biter against White Oak on Friday and snuck past 30-28.
Croatan's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Neely McMannen, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Landry Clifton was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Richlands' win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Croatan, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Richlands have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 35.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Croatan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Richlands didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Croatan in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 41-37 victory. Does Richlands have another victory up their sleeve, or will Croatan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
