Lynchburg-Clay put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington Blue Jays by a score of 5-0. Noel Barnhill made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero hits, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Caitlyn Collins was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. Collins is also crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Jazmine Brown also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lynchburg-Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .568 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
