East Longmeadow won the last time they faced Chicopee and things went their way on Thursday too. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the Pacers.

Mason Ruel and Ollie Klatka were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Ruel tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Klatka struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). At bat, Ruel went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Klatka went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, East Longmeadow got a massive performance out of Max Carlin, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Colin Maruca was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

East Longmeadow now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chicopee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, East Longmeadow will square off against Westfield at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Chicopee, they will face off against Amherst-Pelham Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
