It was a proper cat-fight when  Ursuline Academy challenged St. Mary's Academy on Thursday. The Ursuline Academy Lions put the hurt on the St. Mary's Academy Cougars with a sharp  20-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won four games by 15  runs or more  so far this season.
 Dixie Tatum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned  (and four unearned) runs off   four  hits (and only one walk). Tatum was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Chloe Guilbeau, who  scored four  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 4-for-5. Those  two  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high.  Izzey Price was another key player,  scoring three  runs and  stealing  Two bases. while  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances.
Ursuline Academy is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-6 record  this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.3 runs. St. Mary's Academy dropped their record down to 5-4-1 with the  defeat, which was their fifth straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ursuline Academy will head out to  take on Central Lafourche  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for St. Mary's Academy, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Cohen  at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
