The Old Colony RVT Cougars will head out to take on the Upper Cape Cod RVT Rams at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Old Colony RVT proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past South Shore Vo-Tech 13-11. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since May 7, 2024.
Sharon Delancey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off seven hits. Delancey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Kayleigh DeSousa was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two triples, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maeve Hunter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one triple.
Old Colony RVT hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Upper Cape Cod RVT got the win against Mashpee on Thursday by a conclusive 25-1. Considering the Rams have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Old Colony RVT, Upper Cape Cod RVT also got a great game from a two-way player: Taysia Lopes. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits (and only one walk). Lopes has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Upper Cape Cod RVT got a massive performance out of Rosalie Neville, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Kenley Thomas was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs.
Upper Cape Cod RVT pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Old Colony RVT, their record now sits at 10-7.
Upper Cape Cod RVT's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Old Colony RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Upper Cape Cod RVT, though, as they've been averaging 10.8 hits. Given Old Colony RVT's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
