Anthony had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 6-16 to make it four. They fell just short of the Kermit Yellow Jackets by a score of 10-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in March.
Nathan Rodriguez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Abel Jimenez, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, one run, and one double.
As for Kermit, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-13 record this season. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly two runs.
On Kermit's side, Ian Bejarano and Zeke Carrasco were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Bejarano tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. Meanwhile, Carrasco pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kermit is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-13 otherwise. At the plate, Bejarano went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Carrasco went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Carrasco has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Armando Urias was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Erik Perez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Coincidentally, Anthony and Kermit will both be playing Presidio the next time they take the field. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face the Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
