The Life Christian Academy Eagles lost against the Catholic Crusaders back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Life Christian Academy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 57-37 walloping at the hands of Catholic. While losing is never fun, Life Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 289th, while Catholic is ranked 108th).
Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Thorne led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Rickards, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Life Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Catholic, they pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.
Life Christian Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Cape Henry Collegiate at 7:00 a.m. on December 12th. Catholic will be home for the holidays to greet Cristo Rey at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cristo Rey will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
