Basketball Recap: Dobson Piles Up the Points Against San Luis

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dobson). They blew past the San Luis Sidewinders 86-25 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Mustangs with their most commanding win of the season.

Leading Dobson to victory were Julian Acereto and Julian Day. Acereto went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Day went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Acereto is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Tremaine Turner was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 14 points.

Dobson's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for San Luis, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dobson will square off against Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Perry's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for San Luis, they will challenge Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Luis is facing Sierra Linda at the right time seeing as Sierra Linda is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
