Panther Creek snuck past Anna with a 60-55 victory on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Panther Creek was led to victory by Sentel Simpson and Mario Wooden. Simpson dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Wooden dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Xavier Rainwater, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Anna lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Reece Snodgrass, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Snodgrass has scored all season. Grayson Stewart was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Panther Creek's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Anna, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 12-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Panther Creek will take on Celina at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Anna, they will be playing at home against Van Alstyne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
