The Pottsville Apaches will face off against the Mena Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mena's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Pottsville hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Apaches never let Dardanelle get on the board and left with a 12-0 win on Friday.

Addy Wilmoth made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Madison Kellar and Gavreen Sarai did most of the damage at the plate: Kellar went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Sarai went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most hits Sarai has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Motley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Pottsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mena had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Sand Lizards.
Like Pottsville, Mena also got a great game from a two-way player: Addison Thomas. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Laynie Powell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Pottsville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mena, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pottsville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mena struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
