The South Pike Eagles lost against the Hattiesburg Tigers back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. South Pike took a 40-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hattiesburg. While losing is never fun, South Pike can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 193rd, while Hattiesburg is ranked eighth).
Despite the loss, South Pike still got an impressive performance from John Harrell, who scored 9 points.
South Pike has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Hattiesburg, they have yet to lose a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 6-1 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Pike will take on Wilkinson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hattiesburg, they will be playing at home against Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Laurel is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
