The Milford Tigers will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Rockwell Marshals at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Milford ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with an 85-78 victory over Mount Vernon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kielen Tsosie, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsosie has scored all season. Carson Cheney was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Rockwell's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a serious blow against American Prep WV, falling 88-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Rockwell has suffered yet this season.
Milford has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Rockwell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.
Milford strolled past Rockwell in their previous matchup back in December of 2017 by a score of 58-41. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Rockwell's Brenton Stearns, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be that much easier for Milford to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
