The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Creighton 58-19 at home. With Laurel-Concord-Coleridge ahead 31-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Kolby Hansen, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Carter Kvols was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 12 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Creighton saw an underclassman step up: Ethan Kuhl scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Creighton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Crofton at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. As for Creighton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Holt at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
