They breezed by Liberal on the road to the tune of 77-50. Hugoton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matches by 27 points or more this season.
Several Redskins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was J. Brooks Kappelmann, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Zayden Martinez, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Hugoton pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Liberal, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hugoton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Scott at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Scott is ranked 33rd, while Hugoton is ranked 17th). As for Liberal, they will head out on the road to face off against Hays at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
