John Henry fell 49-39 to Mare Island Tech Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points John Henry has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, John Henry saw an underclassman step up: Cesar Melchor scored 15 points. Jonathan Magana was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
John Henry's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mare Island Tech Academy, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
John Henry will be playing at home against Griffin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mare Island Tech Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Arise at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th.
