The Linden Eagles will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Fenton Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Linden's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Kearsley with a sharp 12-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Addi Siegwald (2027) and Morgan Piotrovsky (2025) did most of the damage at the plate: Siegwald (2027) went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI, while Piotrovsky (2025) went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Helm (2025), who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Linden was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in eight consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fenton entered their tilt with Anchor Bay on Saturday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Tars 11-5.
Abby Golen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Ally Turkowski was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Izzy MacCaughan was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base.
Linden pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Fenton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Linden hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Fenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Linden suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Fenton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
