Basketball Recap: North Smithfield's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

North Smithfield won the last time they faced Achievement First Providence and things went their way on Monday too. The North Smithfield Northmen secured a 57-53 W over the Achievement First Providence Falcons.

North Smithfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Reilly led the charge by putting up 18 points. Reilly's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Drolet, who posted 15 points.

Achievement First Providence's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Malachi Stone, who put up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Fred Browne, who had ten points.

North Smithfield's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Achievement First Providence, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

North Smithfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-52 victory against Blackstone Valley Prep on the 3rd. As for Achievement First Providence, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 45-39 win against Davies Career & Tech on the 3rd.
