Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Perkins, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 55.8% of Leggett's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jace Railey was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Brookeland's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-7. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.7 points. As for Leggett, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-8.
