Both teams enter Thursday morning's showdown with 8-0 records. Darien is shooting for its second-straight FCIAC title after beating New Canaan for the crown last season. However, New Canaan has won 11 out of the last 14 games in this rivalry, including a 21-20 revenge victory in last year's Class L state final.
Names to watch: Pennsylvania-committed quarterback
Michael Collins has amassed 2,395 passing yards and 46 touchdowns in just eight games. Collins is only five touchdowns away from tying the single-season state record. His nine touchdown passes against Trumbull on Nov. 6 tied the single-game mark.
Darien senior
Timothy Graham also has more than 2,000 passing yards this season and has thrown for 26 touchdowns. Graham has only one interception all season and his QB Rating is a brilliant 147.1.
