Baseball Recap: Bolles Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wolfson last Tuesday, Bolles came back down to earth. The Bolles Bulldogs lost 9-2 to the Fletcher Senators on Friday. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bolles got a good showing from Levi Pietschker, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Pietschker has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bolles saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Denzel Del Valle Delgado, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Bolles fell to 4-1. As for Fletcher, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

When Bolles and Fletcher next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Bolles will try to stop Englewood's four-game winning streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bolles is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Fletcher will take on Episcopal School of Jacksonville and their four-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bolles is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
