AISA A Region 2 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Pickens Academy extended the longest winning streak in AISA A Region 2 this week by beating Jackson Academy, 59-33. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Pirates.
Sparta Academy took down Eastwood Christian 40-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Jackson Academy's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Eagles feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. John Earl Kelly has thrown for 163 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Michael Christianson has four catches for 94 yards. Taylor Carpenter leads the league in rushing with 167 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Pickens Academy takes on Marengo Academy. John Gartman's team has allowed 88 points this season, while the Longhorns have given up 75.
The Pirates led the league in scoring this week after putting up 59 points on the Eagles.
